Water Base System

Fire Hydrant System

Fire hydrant installation consists of a system of pipe work connected directly to the water supply main to provide water to each and every hydrant outlet and is intended to provide water for the firemen to fight a Fire. The water is discharged into the _re engine form which it is then pumped and sprayed over Fire. Where the water supply is not reliable or inadequate, hydrant pumps should be provided to Pressurize the Fire mains.

Fire Sprinkler System

A Fire sprinkler system is an active Fire protection method, consisting of a water supply system, providing adequate pressure and Flow rate to a water distribution piping system, onto which fire sprinklers are connected.

Medium Velocity Water Spray System

An MVWS system (short for a Medium Velocity Water Spray System) is a water-based fire protection system. MVWS systems are used to provide cooling and/or control the burning in many large scale industrial applications, such as in thermal power plants. As their name suggests, medium velocity water spray nozzles are designed to spray water at a medium velocity (i.e. the strength of the spray is weaker than HVWS systems). MVWS systems are best suited for protecting hazards involving light oils – where emulsification from high-velocity water sprayers (HVWS) is not possible.

High Velocity water Spray System

HVWS systems are often used to protect equipment that incorporates heavy or medium oils. Equipment Such as oil type circuit breakers and transformers, diesel engines and fuel oil storage tanks, turbo alternator lube oil systems, and oil-_red boilers. High-velocity discharge water jet forms a cone of Coarse spray of uniform density. This coarse spray is able to penetrate the fame zone and reach the Surface of the burning oil. The turbulence created by the high velocity spray forms an oil-in-water emulsion on the surface of the oil that will not burn. This “emulsification” is the main way the fire is extinguished– Along with the cooling and smothering effect.

Water Mist System

A water mist system is a _re protection system which uses very _ne water sprays (i.e. water mist). The small water droplets allow the water mist to control, suppress or extinguish Fire by:
Cooling both the Fame and surrounding gases by evaporation
Displacing oxygen by evaporation
Attenuating radiant heat by the small droplets themselves
The effectiveness of a water mist system in fire suppression depends on its spray characteristics, which include the droplet size distribution, Flux density and spray dynamics, with respect to the fire scenario, such as the shielding of the fuel, fire size and Ventilation conditions.
